The concept of a quartet featuring Wendy Kirkland (piano and voice) was formed in early 2015 to celebrate the singer pianists who have earned their rightful place in jazz history. These include Diana Krall, Eliane Elias, Blossom Dearie and Nina Simone, and also those deserving more attention such as Shirley Horn, Dena Derose, Carol Welsman and Tania Maria.
Wendy has been performing on the piano since the age of 10 and singing jazz for 15 years in various ensembles, appearing at jazz clubs and festivals throughout the UK.
