Jazzlines is Town Hall Symphony Hall’s dynamic programme of live jazz performances and education projects across Birmingham. Part of the registered charity Performances Birmingham Limited, the Jazzlines artistic programme reaches over 24.500 people annually across a range of venues including Town Hall, Symphony Hall, the CBSO Centre, mac Birmingham, Bramall Music Building at the University of Birmingham, the Adrian Boult Hall at Birmingham Conservatoire, the Hare & Hounds, the Jam House and the Jazzlines stage at Mostly Jazz, Funky & Soul Festival. In addition, Jazzlines regurarly works in partnerhsip with London Jazz Festival, Cheltenham Jazz Festival and Manchester Jazz Festival.

Jazzlines programme aims to:
Offer outstanding performance opportunities to emerging and established jazz musicians in a variety of interesting venues,
Commission cutting-edge new work from emerging artists to be showcased in festivals and concerts;
Nurture local talent from primary school age to undergraduate and professional level;
Grow audiences for jazz.
The programme is supported by the grant made to THSH by Arts Council England under the National Portfolio Organisation scheme and will build on the reputation that Tony Dudley-Evans and Mary Wakelam developed through Birmingham Jazz.
Jazzlines is hoping to grow the jazz programme in Birmingham, consolidating these strands with THSH’s jazz programme and broadening live jazz performances in the two venues. The growing jazz education programme which consists of Early Years through to undergraduate and professional development work will also be expanded as part of THSH’s core value of Connecting People to Music. As part of this programme, Jazzlines provides ensembles, masterclasses, workshops and performance opportunities for young people interested in develop their skills as jazz musicians.
