This show is a preview of Laurent Doumont’s next project : « l’Americano ». He presents here for the first time a repertoire of Italian standards from the 1950’s & 60’s, joyfully adapted in the soul-jazz idiom he cares for.
Nel blu dipinto di blu, Azzuro, Come prima... over the years, Laurent has always felt like making them his own, arranging and playing the songs like true jazz standards and now is the time to release them !
Together with his new Soul Quintet - featuring Lorenzo Di Maio (g), Vincent Bruyninckx (p), Sam Gerstmans (b) and Adrien Verderame (ds) - they will put Brussels so close to Capri that if you close your eyes while having a cocktail at the bar, you can almost hear the sea.
