Ellen Powell, Gabe Jarrett, Chris Bakriges at Red Square Club

Ellen Powell is on the Music Faculty at SUNY Plattsburgh as a Adjunct Lecturer teaching bass and as jazz bassist. Ellen has played in all of the Discover Jazz Festivals since its beginning, in Burlington, VT, where she lives. In some of the Discover Jazz Festivals she opened for Dorothy Donegan, Abdullah Ibrahim, and Geri Allen, and her group was featured with jazz vocalist Sheila Jordan. Her group went on a New England tour with Jordan and together with Jordan, was featured on NPR's "Jazz Set".
Gabe Jarrett is drummer who studied in the New School Jazz Program in NYC, and got my butt kicked through studies with Horace Arnold, Pheroan Aklaff, Charlie Persip, Bob Gullotti, and many others. He played with a wide variety of musicians in New York; Thomas Chapin, Arnie Lawrence, Sam Furnace, Curtis Fowlkes, among others. I also worked with singer/songwriter Michael Kroll, and the outstanding Alt-Country pioneer, Nina Nastasia. With performances at legendary clubs such as Sweet Basil, The Jazz Standard, Smalls, and The Knitting Factory....
