Top drawer UK jazz players James Pearson (piano) and Tim Boniface (saxophones) take us on a whistle-stop tour of the history of jazz in 90 minutes. Journeying from ragtime, blues, the swing era and the Great American Songbook to bebop, bossa nova, hard bop and soul jazz, this dynamic duo offer their unique and thrilling introduction to this remarkable art form.
Pianist extraordinaire James Pearson is Artistic Director and house pianist at the world-famous Ronnie Scott's jazz club in Soho, a celebrated classical and jazz soloist, accompanist and composer, and one of the most in demand musicians on the UK scene today. Cambridge based multi-instrumentalist Tim Boniface has collaborated with a huge range of jazz stars from the UK and beyond as a soloist, accompanist and musical director. He is director of the 'Girton Jazz' scheme at Girton College, Cambridge, a performance coach with the University Centre for Music Performance and jazz examiner with the Faculty of Music. Tim's latest album 'Psalter: Themes for Peace', featuring James on piano, will be released in June this year....
