Constantin Krahmer pursues a rather quiet, maximally acoustic sound aesthetic with his trio, combining melodic power and emotionality with improvisation in an innovative way. He writes his music with the aim of blurring composition and improvisation, and pays particular attention to subtleties: the pieces are composed with the ulterior motive of giving the performers maximum freedom in detailed elaboration, favoring the development of the music from the moment. In Cologne drummer Leif Berger and New York bassist Thomas Morgan, Constantin has found two excellent partners for this purpose, who complete and enrich the trio with their musical personalities....

Constantin Krahmer is an up-and-coming, creative pianist on the Cologne jazz scene. He has been active so far with his band Offshore and as a sideman in projects such as the Maik Krahl Quartet, Zuzana Leharova Quartet, Ampai:re, Hanna Schörkens Filán, Radius and many more. In June 2020 followed the first recording under his own name with the quartet Constantin Krahmer Close Up, which will be released as an album this year.

Thomas Morgan has developed a unique sound language over the years. He has played and continues to play with countless jazz greats such as Bill Frisell, Kenny Werner, John Abercrombie, Steve Coleman, Masabumi Kikuchi and many more. A major player on the New York jazz scene, he is one of the most sought-after bassists in the world.

Leif Berger has already become one of the most sought-after drummers in Germany at a young age and is also extremely active across genres. In addition to various jazz projects, he also plays in the successful Cologne neo-soul band Salomea, for example. Since 2020, he has been a NICA-artist development fellow at the Cologne Stadtgarten – supported by funds from the Ministry of Culture and Science of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia.
