Now he is bringing his new quintet Full Tree to the stage to coincide with the release of the new album on nWog Records.
The new band represents much of Stiefel’s previous work at the same time: the orchestral expansion of years of conceptual work with the Inner Language Trio, as well as the transfer of experience with the C.S. Septet to the smallest possible and at the same time most reduced orchestral unit – a quintet with rhythm section, piano and two wind instruments. In short: everything is possible, from minimal to orchestral, and yet the band remains a manageable, intimate organism with plenty of freedom and interplay....

In short: everything is possible, from minimal to orchestral, and yet the band remains a manageable, intimate organism with plenty of freedom and interplay.
In order to realise all this musically, Steifel has written new compositions for the band and brought some of the best musicians on the European jazz scene to his side: Proven band mates (from the septet) such as Bastian Stein and Domenic Landolf as well as a new rhythm section with Raffaele Bosshard and the young Bernese Michael Cina.
Stiefel remains stylistically true to himself with his new quintet: beautiful melodies, dense harmonies and a concentrated load of rhythmic energy…





NOTE: In 2024, the concerts at the LOFT will start round 8pm - the LOFT opens approx. 30min before the concerts begin.
