To be heard and seen is a world premiere – the meeting of three musicians from three different countries and generations: Ethan Iverson (49, USA, piano), Andreas Lang (42, Denmark/Germany, double bass) and Eva Klesse (36, Germany, drums).
Bassist and drummer already know each other from various formations in Berlin, including the project of hearts & mistakes with singer Mia Knop Jacobsen and pianist Julia Hülsmann, as well as the septet Julia Hülsmann & friends.
Ethan Iverson and Eva Klesse, in turn, met at a workshop in Denmark in 2017. After a reunion in New York, the desire to make music together was solidified, which then became a reality in 2019 with a first small trio tour. Further planned transatlantic projects initially fell victim to the pandemic, now the joint musical journey of discovery can be continued.
You will hear original compositions of all band members, pieces of the drum legend Paul Motian, as well as standards of the American Songbook in a new guise.

The incredible knowledge and experience of Ethan Iverson (author of the world-renowned and respected jazz blog „Do the Math“ as well as long-time pianist of the world-famous jazz trio „The Bad Plus“ and co-musician of legends such as Tootie Heath, Mark Turner and Billy Hart) meets the versatility, openness and foundation of the incredibly sought-after bassist Andreas Lang, as well as the energy and sound sensitivity of drummer Eva Klesse.
