In November 2021 the debut album Misanthropic Tendencies of the 26 years young bassist Felix Henkelhausen was released.
The compositions are a collection of pieces written during the first five years of his stay in Berlin and move between rhythmic density, lyrical colorations and collective improvisations. Felix mixes in the pieces his versatile influences, which he could collect as a sideman and does not put himself in the foreground, it is rather about a sound body, which can only come about through the five individuals....

Felix Henkelhausen was born in Oldenburg in 1995 and learned piano and cello from childhood, later he found interest in the double bass completed a junior study with Prof. Detlev Beier at the HfK Bremen while still in high school.

From 2014 -2019 Felix studied at the Jazz Institute Berlin with Prof. Greg Cohen and Marc Muellbauer, other mentors were Jim Black, Drew Gress and Robert Landfermann.

Despite his young age, Felix has played with many nationally and internationally renowned musicians such as: Nate Wooley, Dave Liebmann, Marc Copland, Toby Delius, Lotte Anker, Andrea Parkins, Eric Mcpherson, Jochen Rueckert, Philipp Gropper’s Philm, Hubert Nuss, Jim Black, Pablo Held, Oli Steidle, Gebhard Ullmann, Wanja Slavin, Peter Schlamp and many others.
