In Eastern Flowers, this specifically means an unsuspected interweaving of Indian art and temple music with European jazz, but also with elements of Baroque counterpoint or with the special octave divisions of Frenchman Olivier Messiaen.

The ensemble, founded in 2009 by Jarry Singla, plays mainly compositions of the German-Indian pianist and performs nationally and internationally – so far at outstanding festivals and concert series such as „Buenos Aires Jazz“, „Jazz Utsav New Delhi“, „Bolivia Festijazz“, „Acht Brücken – Musik für Köln“ and „Musik in Donaueschingen“.

His two highly renowned musical accompanists also have Indian roots. WDR Jazz Prize winner Ramesh Shotham is one of the busiest South Indian jazz percussionists in Europe, Christian Ramond has played with jazz legends such as Albert Mangelsdorff, Kenny Wheeler and Lee Konitz.
