Now he is an important figure of the New York Jazz scene and plays regularly in the trendy clubs such as the legendary Blue Note, Birdland, Smalls or 55Bar. There he played with many jazz greats such as Kurt Rosenwinkel, Ingrid Jensen and Aaron Goldberg.
For this tour and his new album The Painter, Meinhart has compiled a series of original compositions that he feels represent his personal exploration of the spiritual power of music. He formed a band with some of the best young jazz musicians in New York and they perform regularly at the city’s best jazz clubs. The core of the band is made of pianist Lorenz Kellhuber, bassist Matthias Pichler and drummer Jesse Simpson.
The music on The Painter is characterized by strong unison lines, at the same time humorous, atmospheric and full of energy.

The album was included in a list of the Best Albums (****) of 2021 by Downbeat Magazine.
