born 1956 in Bochum | composer and pianist

…. founded his first own formation, the GEORG GRAEWE QUINTETT, in 1974 and made his recording debut two years later with Berlin’s Free Music Production. He went on to lead a number of international ensembles – from trio to chamber orchestra. His catalog of works includes chamber music, orchestral pieces, as well as works for film and television, music for theater performances, radio play productions and video installations, as well as three chamber operas to date. Graewe’s music is equally committed to European modernism and the developments of the jazz avant-garde and has been documented on over 50 recordings to date. He currently works with his SONIC FICTION ORCHESTRA as well as a soloist and in various duos and trios....
