David Mesquitic is a pianist, composer, and educator committed to the intergenerational transfer of the knowledge, history, and traditions of jazz. Mesquitic currently teaches at the University of Wyoming as Lecturer in Jazz Piano where he also maintains a schedule performing with his trio, adjudicating, and commissioning music throughout the globe. Mesquitic holds a Doctor of Musical Arts in Jazz Piano Performance from the University of Texas at Austin, a Masters of Music from Texas State University, and Bachelors of Arts in Music Education from the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley.The bands performances include the most recent album The Trio: Volume 1 that explores a modern approach to the American Songbook while honoring the traditions of jazz. David remains active performing, touring, and arranging as leader of his trio, big band, and working sideman in both jazz and commercial based projects...
