The Jazz Baroness

'The Jazz Baroness' is going to be multi media and multi platform project. It is based on the life of Nica de Koenigswarter, jazz patron and friend of artists such as Thelonius Monk and Charlie Parker, who lived in New York from the 1950's until the 1980's. To date we have interviewed Sonny Rollins, Chico Hamilton, Amiri Barakha, Stanley Crouch, Roy Haynes, Curtis Fuller and many more and will also publish a CD of the many songs written for Nica. The website, due to be launched in February 2007, will be vital to research for the finished documentary.
