Pierre Bertrand and his musicians have been playing together for quite some time now, which is obvious from the complicity, relaxed atmosphere, and mutual trust that reign within the group.

Pierre Bertrand's guitar style consists of intelligently probing and exploring phrases, often from surprising angles. It's a fairly intense approach in which continuity is not always at the forefront, but which contrasts nicely with Benjamin Boutant's fluid tenor saxophone playing, much closer to the lyrical side of the spectrum, combining rhythm and melody in a superb and appealing way. Sofian El Mabrouk, on bass, has many opportunities to show off his fingerpicking dexterity. As for Félix Joveniaux, the range and sensitivity with which he accompanies his three colleagues on drums is impressive....
