Clearly, he liked what he heard – now he’s bringing this spectacular reunion to the Elbphilharmonie. The fact that »We Want Miles« came into being at all is largely thanks to saxophonist Bill Evans. After Miles Davis withdrew from the public eye in 1975 due to health issues, Evans helped bring him back to life – taking him to jazz clubs and introducing him to young talents like Marcus Miller, guitarist Mike Stern and percussionist Mino Cinelu. He eventually convinced Miles to return to the studio. The result: »The Man with the Horn« and »We Want Miles« – a comeback hailed across the jazz world. Now, with star trumpeter Russell Gunn joining the lineup, that legendary comeback is being reborn on stage.
