She also won a year-long comedy mentorship for women of color from Sofia Chang's Unlock Her Potential and has been featured in the New York Times. Her very first television pilot was accepted into the 2nd round of the Austin Film Festival. Sonya performs regularly in NYC at New York Comedy Club, Greenwich Village Comedy Club, The Stand, Gotham, Broadway Comedy Club, and other comedy venues.
