"Namaste" which the name derives itself from Indian/Middle Eastern descent, has many meanings. In the context of the band name, we define this title to mean "All that is good in us honors all that is good in you." A concept and an idea that spawned from frontman Jimmy Garski's mind. The band started with a chance meeting between Jimmy and drummer Lon Groth on December 14, 2013 at an impromptu jam session in Wausau, Wisconsin. After discovering that their musical styles complemented each other remarkably well, Lon introduced lead guitarist John Phillips to the mix. John, like Lon,” wanted to escape the redundant and overpopulated scene of 80's rock music” per Lon and was intrigued by the challenge and variety that Jimmy's music style had to offer. Master bassist Caleb Hohneke and keyboardist Ivan Charneski were selected to complete the band from several who auditioned in response to an ad on Craigslist. However, due to unforseen circumstances, John, Lon and Caleb and Ivan all left the band and new members Jeremiah Paarmann bassist extraordinaire and Billy Groff master guitarist, replaced them in October of 2014. The band filled the role of its percussionist by Marc Sherwood in April of 2015. Marc and Jeremiah as well as Billy have ALL contributed in a different and most delightful way on a musical/professional level. Embracing both an electric/acoustic electric 90’s vibe of both original and cover songs (The Toadies, John Lennon, The Beatles, CandleBox, Shine Down, Cage The Elephant, The Reconteurs, Smashing Pumpkins, AudioSlave, Imagine Dragons, Blind Melon, Lynnrd Skynnrd, Marshall Tucker Band, The Doors, Pearl Jam, etc, and various ORIGINALS…So, the stage is set. With visions of recording their music, garnishing college and commercial world radio airplay, seeking major label attention and a love to tour the world, Namaste is ready to become a household name. Namaste...all that is good in us honors all that is good in you...
