We're delighted to welcome a six piece band from the beating heart of the Sheffield jazz scene, bringing an eclectic mix of unusual contemporary latin tunes and choice standards by the likes of Thelonious Monk.

An experienced front-line featuring lyrical and melodic sax player, Martin O'Kane (alto and baritone sax), alongside the contrasting powerful tenor sax playing of Pete Jones, is backed up by a great swinging rhythm section featuring Errol Francis (Montuno) on piano and percussion, John Powell (guitar), Joss Mann-Hazel (double bass), and Brian Bestall (Chronology, Impressions, Unsung) on drums....

Note: This gig replaces the previously advertised gig by Aaron Casserly Stewart, which was cancelled for personal reasons. We're really sad that Aaron can't do the gig, and we wish him all the best. Hopefully we'll be able to welcome him to The Lescar in the near future. In the meantime come down and listen to a great mix of latin and straight-ahead bop standards by some of Sheffield's finest musicians.
