About
Colin Hodgkinson, a native of North Yorkshire, formed Back Door in 1971 with Ron Aspery. Their unique brand of jazz-rock and Hodgkinson's original electric bass playing was a hit and they toured worldwide including gigs with the legendary J. Geils Band in the U.S. After 1977 they disbanded and Hodgkinson worked in a string of projects including The Spencer Davis Group, stints playing live with Alexis Korner and a few bands with Jan Hammer. The Back Door reunion band features Colin on bass, and Rod Mason on sax.
