NYJO is world famous as a glittering showcase for the country’s best young musicians and is now celebrating its 50th anniversary.

Hull Jazz Festival has been working with Hull Music Hub and the University of Hull to make sure that our young local musicians are offered inspiring opportunities for performance. In this second year of our exciting partnership with NYJO we present the results of a 2-day residency led by Mark Armstrong, the Artistic and Music Director for NYJO.

This show brings together the combined talents of Hull’s young musicians with a sextet of the leading NYJO talents to present classics from the big band canon alongside new arrangements.
