Hull Jazz Festival Winter Edition 2016 comes to a close with Omar Puente's Cuban Sextet performing tracks from their forthcoming album Best Foot Forward.
The album represents the second stage of an international musical journey for world-renowned violinist Omar Puente, rooted in his Afro Cuban heritage. The project fuses musical experiences from Brazil, Africa, the Caribbean and Europe, with a deep understanding of Jazz.
This rich mix produces complex and infectious rhythms and original melodies, all performed by a multinational sextet, and an unusual combination of violin, trombone and extended rhythm section.
