The Dime Notes at Hull Jazz Festival at Hull Truck Theatre

The Dime Notes join us to celebrate the 300th anniversary of the world’s most famous jazz city, digging back into the blues-drenched sounds of clarinet-driven 1920’s New Orleans jazz. On the way, they unearth a repertoire of stomps, blues, and forgotten gems of the era from musicians including Johnny Dodds, Jelly Roll Morton and Red Nichols.

The band’s fronted by Chris Barber’s long-term clarinettist, David Horniblow, and US pianist/composer/musicologist and Jelly Roll Morton specialist Andrew Oliver.
