Peter King maintains the sound and elegance that accredit him as arguably the most admired and respected jazz musician in Great Britain. His sax has been a compulsory reference for all subsequent generations, and greats of the genre like Philly Joe Jones, Zoot Sims and Nat Adderley have recruited them into his groups. He also formed part of Ray Charles’ band and accompanied voices like Jon Hendricks and Anita O’Day. Rock icons like Van Morrison and the Rolling Stones’ drummer Charlie Watts have also often requested his services. Here he is backed by a quartet comprising some of the finest European jazz musicians, including Tom Cawley who will feature later in the Spring 2016 season with his own trio, Curios....
