Description: Russell Van Den Berg, Ivo Neame piano, Steve Watts bass and Tim Giles drums. This all-star quartet has been put together to mark Leeds based saxophonist Russell Van den Berg reaching 40. Initially a tenor saxophonist now turned alto player, Russ will be playing material from those he's worked with including a tribute to the late Kenny Wheeler.
The concert will include compositions from various solo albums Russ's made throughout the past twenty years as a solo artist. Initially a tenor saxophonist now turned alto player, he'll also be covering material from those he's worked with as a sideman including a tribute to the late Kenny Wheeler. Each member of the accompanying trio is found on varying albums he's produced brought together in this unique context as one of the leading UK trio's for the first time to create a compelling band sound.
