About

Since arriving in London in 2006, Lincolnshire-born pianist Carl Hudson has been steadily establishing himself as one of the most interesting and versatile keyboard players in the UK. Equally comfortable playing modern jazz, funk, Brazilian, R&B or soul on piano, keyboard or synthesizer, he has performed with UK jazz saxophone heavyweights such as Peter King and Mornington Lockett as well as contributing to live sessions with the Average White Band and Sister Sledge. He has also worked closely with producer/performer Soulpersona, being the featured keyboard player in his Digisoul collective since 2010 and has recorded and performed live with numerous artists including the likes of Jocelyn Brown, Leon Ware, Omar and The Valentine Brothers. We have asked Carl to curate a series of “Groove” nights here for us at the Club and tonight Carl will be joined by his regular "crew" of up-and-coming guitarist Bobby Quigley, along with a group of amazing hand-picked musicians, including Andy Tolman-bass and Nick van Gelder (Jamiroquai) drums. Carl likes to theme these nights so this evening he is calling it "Classic Album" night and he has invited along one of his (and our) favourite singers as a Special Guest, the amazing vocalist Joy Rose (Sting, Jason Rebello) who, along with his amazing band, will be performing songs from the classic Chaka Khan album "Naughty". This promises to be a very special Easter treat, so put down that chocolate and head over to the Club, I can guarantee you won't be disappointed! ...
