About

Since arriving in London in 2006, Lincolnshire-born pianist Carl Hudson has been steadily establishing himself as one of the most interesting and versatile keyboard players in the UK. Equally comfortable playing modern jazz, funk, Brazilian, R&B or soul on piano, keyboard or synthesizer, he has performed with UK jazz saxophone heavyweights such as Peter King and Mornington Lockett as well as contributing to live sessions with the Average White Band and Sister Sledge. He has also worked closely with producer/performer Soulpersona, being the featured keyboard player in his Digisoul collective since 2010 and has recorded and performed live with numerous artists including the likes of Jocelyn Brown, Leon Ware, Omar, The Valentine Brothers and Boy George. His live show includes a mixture of straight ahead, modern and more contemporary styles interwoven into a diverse and engaging repertoire. Tonight Carl will be featuring music from his recently released album "Pixel Planet", a follow up to his first, highly acclaimed, CD ‘Zoology For Martians’, performed by his band Moon Unit featuring some of the finest musicians on the UK groove scene, including: Terry Lewis (Mama's Gun) & Kim Murray (Boney M)-guitars, Paul Silver-keyboard & sax, Andy Tolman (Leon Ware)-bass, Jimmy Norden (Alice Russell)-percussion and Nick Van Gelder (Jamiroquai)-drums. Carl’s fabulous, groove-drenched originals are absolutely infectious and as anyone who’s seen Carl play live will readily attest, he puts on a great show!...
