Enthusiasts for traditional jazz will have a special evening on January 21st with the Enrico Tomasso All-Stars, as they present Salute to Satchmo. Louis Armstrong was a true legend, with music rooted in the New Orleans of his early years, further shaped by his time in Chicago and then in Harlem and New York. His six-piece All-Stars, created in 1947, featured some of the great names of traditional jazz. Who better to present this tribute than Enrico, who at the age of 7 met and played Basin Street Blues to Satchmo, keeping in touch afterwards, with much encouragement from his great mentor? Tomasso brings a fine band to bring back great memories of this exceptional musician and his jazz.
