Tonight he will be playing original music inspired by the life of the Harlem born, mixed-race classical piano prodigy, Philippa Schuyler. Wilson and his band of hard-hitting musicians will explore new compositional ground with music ranging from the roughest blues to the most melodic swing. Expect trumpet playing complete with beauty in tone complemented by stunning vocals as Wilson tells the sensitive story of an extraordinary and gifted musician’s troubled life. A combination of music and story-telling will convey a woman presented with obstacles beyond her control from heartache to racism. Philippa promises to pierce the soul and melt the heart.
