"chet Meets Sarah" A Night Of Chet Baker & Sarah Vaughan's Favourite Tunes at The Boston Room, George IV

Although they occasionally played on the same bill in the 1950’s, Chet Baker and Sarah Vaughan never recorded together. For this special show, the Retro Chet Quartet are joined by Katrina Likhtman to recreate Chet Baker and Sarah Vaughan’s favourite songs. The two musicians could not have been more different but shared an ability to choose just the right notes at just the right time and we promise to conjure up some magical ‘what might have been’ musical moments from the past!

The Retro Chet Collective was set up in 2017 to recreate Chet Baker’s studio and live recordings from the later part of his career, often working with just piano and double bass or as a quartet with drums. The band have appeared regularly at The Bull at Barnes and George IV in Chiswick, The Laurens Jazz Club in Southwest France and the Spice of Life in Soho. We are delighted to have them back at George IV with this singular line-up featuring Caroline Cooper on piano, Rog Thomson on double bass, Geoff Varrall on trumpet, Max Holm-Radford on percussion and Katrina Likhtman on vocals. ...
