David Preston is a guitarist, composer and producer who started playing classical guitar at the age of six and since turning professional in the mid 2000's has written, recorded and performed in many diverse settings, ranging from jazz, rock and pop to contemporary classical. He has recorded and performed with the likes of Curtis Stigers, The Heritage Orchestra, Goldie, Martin Taylor, Empirical, Patrick Cornelius, Ivo Neame, Charlotte Church, Ayanna Witter Johnson, and UK beat-boxing star Shlomo. Highlights of many of his diverse projects include touring, recording and writing with Melody Gardot from 2009 to 2012 and again in 2017, and he made quite an impression performing on, co-writing and co-producing singer Ian Shawâs 2008 album âLifejacketâ. In 2013 he joined former Nucleus/Loose Tubes saxophonist Tim Whitehead's Homemade Orchestra, playing a 50-date UK tour and in 2015 he appeared with Carlos Acosta CBE onstage at the Royal Opera House for 6 nights in the stage production of 'Cubania'. He also plays with his own internationally recognised contemporary jazz trio 'Preston-Glasgow-Lowe' who released their debut album in 2016 on Whirlwind Records. Heâs played at festivals and venues including the Palladium, Queen Elizabeth Hall and LâOlympia in Paris and has appeared on BBC Radios 1 & 3 (an eclectic mix!). Scots-born 6 string bass player Kevin Glasgow has a wealth of experience performing at top venues in the UK and abroad such as Ronnie Scott's, The Lincoln Center, NYC and many festivals including Glastonbury, Rochester, Edmonton, Hong Kong, Edinburgh, the Isle of White and Glasgow International Jazz Festivals. He currently plays in a number of projects, including Tommy Smithâs âKarmaâ, the Asaf Sirkis Trio and the Nicolas Meier Trio+ as well as with Preston-Glasgow-Lowe and he tours regularly with Marcos Valle. David and Kevin's special guests this evening will be International music stars Jason Rebello (Sting, Jeff Beck, Chaka Khan) on piano & keyboards and drummer Jeremy Stacey (Sheryl Crow, Noel Gallagher) currently a member of the iconic band King Crimson. This unique band put together specifically for this gig will perform a great mix of contemporary jazz standards and excellent original material, including two new tunes written specifically for tonight.
