Deelee pursued an academic path and studied at the Brit School and then pursued a degree in music and media. Since graduating, she has been doing session recordings and performing with renowned artists and musicians amongst being involved in other collaboration projects. Deelee is now working on her own original material and other musical projects with musicians and producers, alongside performing in various venues in and around London. She has performed in venues such as The Hackney Empire, The Queen Elizabeth Hall, 12 Bar, Bush Hall, The Marriott Hotel, Turnmills, Caffe Chioggia (Venice, Italy), Viva Viva, The Royal Albert Hall amongst many other private and public events.
As a singer, Deelee tends to have a voice quality that is quite stunningly mature and sophisticated, with a wide vocal range that reflects an influential spectrum of styles ranging from vocal greats such as Sarah Vaughan, Eva Cassidy, Nina Simone, Karen Carpenter, Roberta Flack, Minnie Riperton, Joni Mitchell, Fitzgerald, and Billie Holiday, amongst others. Deelees voice often catches the attention of audiences because of it's distinctive quality, and Deelees sheer precision with words and phrasing expresses her unique delivery of emotion and intonation. Performing is somewhat like breathing to her, and is one of her greatest joys. She is in her element on stage, and also when creating songs and composing music and lyrics.
As a songwriter, Deelees has collaborated with several emerging producers and artists, and has had material reach Semi-Finalist position for the UK Song writing (UKSC) Contest.
DeeLee Dube has worked with Florence and the Machine for the VMA nominated Music Video 'The Dog Days are Over' and The Barclay Card Unwind Music commercial Campaign. Her songs have also successfully reached semi-finalist positions for the UK Songwriting Contest.
