WHAT & WHY?
Led by Emma Smith and Callum Au, the She Sings Sinatra big band project presents a thought-provoking set of music as an alternative to ‘cancelling’ jazz repertoire from the Swing Era now considered misogynistic. The project re-imagines songs traditionally ‘owned’ by male vocalists and embeds them within female vocal repertoire.

This one-off workshop day invites students aged under 18 to read along during an open big band rehearsal featuring some of the finest jazz musicians on the UK scene before participating in the panel discussion which will include speakers from the band and from other organisations...
