Formed by guitarist Alex Munk in 2014, Flying Machines features some of the most innovative young musicians to emerge in recent years from the UK jazz scene, Matt Robinson on piano/keyboards, Conor Chaplin on electric bass and Dave Hamblett on drums. Centred on Alex's unique compositional approach, the band fuse improvisation with anthemic melodies and lusciously textured soundscapes. Having released their self-titled debut album to critical acclaim in October 2016, Flying Machines completed a 24 date UK tour supported by Arts Council England, culminating in a sold out, headline performance at Ronnie Scott's Jazz Club in April 2017. They went on to perform at Latitude festival on the BBC Introducing stage and are currently working on their second album.
