Andrea Carlson comes to London, for 2 marvellous evenings at Le Que! Based in Philadelphia, Andrea's varied repertoire centre on the American and French jazz of the '20s and '30s. Her "gypsy" travels, often with Dave Bop and her band "the Love Police", have taken her from Chicago to New York and from Edinburgh (Fringe Festival) to Prague, (including a private concert in the mansion at the Samois Django Festival). Singing in both French and English, Andrea's vocals are described as similar to Blossom Dearie and Billie Holiday, and range from warm and tender, to sassy and bluesy. Andrea, a trained classical guitarist, weaves these influences into her fingerstyle jazz, as well as her awarding winning compositions. She makes a sound all her own.
