Jo Harrop Trio - Tribute To Nina Siimone at The Boston Room, George IV

The much admired jazz vocalist Jo Harrop will be showcasing the songs of the legendary Nina Simone along with the acclaimed pianist Alex Hutton and the noted bassist Jihad Darwish. Nina Simone’s music spanned a broad range of styles ranging from Jazz, Folk, Blues and Classical through to R&B. Gospel and Pop, going on to record over 40 albums between 1958 and 1974, making her debut with “Little Girl Blue” as well as having a hit single in the US with “I Loves You Porgy”.

The repertoire of the concert will reflect Nina’s early years from her 1959 debut covering such classics as “I Want A Little Sugar In My Bowl”, “Love Me Or Leave Me”, ”Here Comes The Sun”, “House Of The Rising Sun”, “I Loves You Porgy”, “Please Don’t Let Me Be Misunderstood” and “My Baby Just Cares For Me” among others...
