Jules Faife Quartet at Map Cafe

London-based guitarist Jules Faife has been involved in a broad range of musical styles since he moved to the capital from his hometown of Leeds in 1995. He toured internationally with Zimbabwean singer Netsayi Chigwendere, performed Indian classical music with Nirakar and Flamenco with El Aire. He also plays in renowned London soul-funk group Bassistry.

As Jules is also a bass player, this is reflected in his compositions, as the grooves and rhythms will take just as much importance as the instrumental solos. Although he doesn't consider himself a Flamenco guitarist, he has been greatly inspired by listening to Paco de Lucia and Vicente Amigo. His new album fuses that Spanish influence with the African, Indian and American styles he's learnt along the way....

This lively quartet will play tracks from the album and other original pieces, as well as some new interpretations of Latin and Jazz-Funk classics.
