Karen Lane Latin Quintet at The Crypt

Karen Lane - Singer Songwriter - Lane originally from Perth, has been resident in London for the last 18 years.  She has released five self-produced albums, to critical acclaim. The first titled Once in a Lifetime (2002) received rave reviews and airplay internationally in UK, Canada and USA.

Her undulating and evocative vocals blend traditional resonances with decidedly modern inflections. She has a love of Brazilian music and in 2004 released her second album - dedicated to Bossa Nova - “Taste” which was described as:

The band recently sold out at Ronnie Scotts and features:
Rob Luft (guitar) Andy Hamill (bass) Andrea Trillo (drums) and special guest Julian Ferraretto (violin). Julian wrote the arrangements for Karen's album Taste and has since worked with some of London's finest jazz musicians including Eska dn Neil Cowley. This gig will feature songs from their forthcoming album release. Expect a mix of classic Latin standards mixed with Lane’s original compositions delivered with her uniquely intimate yet abandoned style.
