Live Jazz London - Steinway Festival 2014: Emma Smith and Friends (featuring Barry Green and Matt Robinson) Having already shared the stage with the likes of Dame Cleo Laine, the late Sir John Dankworth, and garnered a 2010 nomination for jazz vocalist of the year alongside Norma Winstone and Christine Tobin, Emma Smith is well on her way to becoming one of the UKs leading vocalists. Her 2012 debut album The Huntress was launched at PizzaExpress and received critical plaudits. Matt Robinson was the pianist on that album, and joins her for this special show as part of the Steinway Festival. Matt studied at the Royal Academy of Music, where he was awarded the Edwin Samuel Dove prize and a Yamaha Jazz Scholarship upon graduation. His recent performance at a BBC Proms Late Show was broadcast on Radio 3. Lining up on the second piano is Barry Green one of the most exciting young pianists on the British jazz scene.
