Miriam Grey at 606 Club

Mim Grey is a versatile singer/songwriter who has had a broad and varied career spanning differing genres. In the dance scene she scored hits with Mantronix and Lee Cabrera, her music has been used in various commercial campaigns, she has co-written tracks with the likes of Kylie Minogue and has worked with a number of superstars including Paul McCartney, ABC, Dave Stewart (Eurythmics) and Tom Jones, on arena stages, at theatres and in clubs around the world. Her own music, as heard on the CD’s ‘Grey Matters’ and ‘Chasing Tigers’ reflects a timeless melodic sensibility that immediately grabs you and draws you in. It’s classic songwriting in the best sense, and although very accessible it is also substantive with enough harmonic complexity to warrant repeated listening. The songs are matched by Mim’s terrific voice: warm, soulful, with effortless range but just a touch of rasp for character. Mim’s been discovered by country music fans of late – “Country Music in Britain” says hers is ‘one of the finest voices in the world’ and her latest musical offerings have been zooming up the country charts in both the US and UK. If all that’s not enough, she’s also been recording with Jamiroquai guitarist and producer Rob K Harris’ new project TRIONIQ. Mim’s been performing at the 606 since she was a teenager and we are just delighted to have her back once again. We love this gig (and Mim) – highly recommended....
