Nathaniel Facey, has, over the last few years, established an impressive and well-deserved reputation on the UK jazz scene as the highly talented and creative saxophonist with the MOBO award-winning group “Empirical”. A star of international repute he has won Parliamentary, Jazzwise, MOJO and Peter Whittingham Awards (amongst many others), recorded or performed with a who’s who of international jazz stars including Courtney Pine, Tim Garland, Jack Dejohnette, Jason Moran and Hugh Masekela, and played at prestigious venues and festivals around the world including the Queen Elizabeth Hall, Barbican Centre & North Sea Jazz. Nathaniel has also been heard here often at the 606, and continues to collaborate with mega-talented singer/composer/pianist Theo Jackson. His quartet, not surprisingly, is comprised of some of the most admired players on the UK jazz scene: Gareth Williams on piano, Fergus Ireland on bass and Shaney Forbes on drums.
