Recently nominated for Jazz FM Breakthrough Act of the Year 2016, Nérija incorporate jazz, afrobeat and hip hop into a new, exciting and original sound.

The band have toured across Europe and the UK and performed alongside top UK jazz musicians such as Nathaniel Facey of Empirical, pianist Zoe Rahman, and supported Jazz Jamaica at Ronnie Scott’s. Most recently they won Jazz Newcomer of the Year at the 2017 Parliamentary Jazz Awards.

Nérija are Sheila Maurice-Grey on trumpet, Rosie Turton on trombone, Cassie Kinoshi on alto sax, Nubya Garcia on tenor sax, Shirley Tetteh on guitar, Inga Eichler on double bass and Lizy Exell on drums.
