Patricia Barber is coming to Soho Jazz Club with her debiut shows, and will be performing many of her original songs, including 'Artsongs' from her latest Song Cycle, 'Angels, Birds and I...', which she performed w Renée Fleming. Barber had secured her place in modern jazz history. Among her contemporaries, only Cassandra Wilson had managed to create a comparable chemistry of new and old standards (catalyzed by uncategorizable originals); and only Diana Krall would match the compound appeal of Barber’s rarefied vocals and pristine piano.
