For this special show, Ray is joined by the brand new PizzaExpress House Band brings some of the hippest young musicians on the UK jazz scene together with established British jazz greats in a group that are equally comfortable playing classic jazz, swing and blues. Band leader trumpeter/vocalist Peter Horsfall is known for his own groups as well as his role as founding member of the much talked about Kansas Smitty’s band. Other regulars include fellow Kansas Smitty’s alumni, reedsmen Giacomo Smith and Ruben Fox, Empirical drummer Shaney Forbes, well respected mainstream guitarist Martin Wheatley, and Dean Street regulars Steve Brown (drums) and Dave Green (bass) – often seen at the jazz club with legends like Scott Hamilton and Barry Harris.
