Sarah Moule is widely acknowledged as the foremost interpreter of the songs of American jazz lyricist Fran Landesman and award-winning British pianist Simon Wallace. New York born Landesman's work has been recorded by several great artists including Sarah Vaughan, Ella Fitzgerald and Miles Davies. Landesman began lyric writing in the 1950's with "Spring Can Really Hang You Up" and "The Ballad Of The Sad Young Man" and her lyrics are a direct link to the New York jazz scene of the 1950's. In Sarah's live shows these exceptional contemporary songs of Fran Landesman are always juxtaposed with elegant arrangements of classic songs and rare gems by the great Duke Ellington whose music has also been a big influence on Sarah and Simon. For this marvellous new show, they will be joined by the much-admired bassist Neville Malcolm, (Gregory Porter, Eric Bibb) and Paul Robinson who for many years was Nina Simone's drummer.
