Splatter, in the words of the on-line blogger, the ‘Jazz Alchemist’, play like ‘a four-bodied one-mind entity, the communication, the mutual understanding, the almost hypnotic ability to follow each other's ideas - it's all here, crystal clear’. Splatter try to have fun with each other, exploring shared sensibilities through improvisation, wherever that might lead. The music often features a kind of dislocated groove, layered against snatches of melody. Propulsive rhythms give way to oddly misplaced, out-of-kilter tunes; or snatches of metal are followed by sudden pools of languorously ambient tranquility.
