Standard Miles presents a British jazz supergroup revisiting the music played by the legendary Miles Davis. The loose, spontaneous and elastic treatments that Miles' quintet gave Broadway song material in the 1960s are the inspiration and provide the repertoire for a band full of well-known names. The links between these players run deep, encompassing work with bands led by legendary figures like Ronnie Scott, Don Rendell and Michael Garrick. Heading these veteran stars is saxophonist Simon Spillett, a player from a much later generation whose knowledge and love of the golden age of jazz enables him to sit comfortably within this stellar line-up of Britain's finest.
