A natural storyteller, the singer-songwriter returns to Pizza Express to perform material from his newly-released album, Shoeless and the Girl. From the tale of a lovelorn tortoise to the homeless man of the title, the songs have an ethereal, other worldly quality and yet they are grounded in reality. His thoughtful and insightful lyrics are strong enough for Wayne Shorter to have perso¬nally approved lyrical adaptations of two Shorter tunes.
