This enormously gifted, multi-award winning flute and sax player is one of the most respected musicians on the scene today. Not only is he one of the country's finest jazz musicians but he is also a skilled and highly regarded composer and arranger. His fluent and melodic sax playing has been heard in a wide variety of settings, from regular work with the BBC Big Band and the John Dankworth “Generations” Band through performance and recording with the likes of Cleo Laine, Shirley Bassey, Paul McCartney, Georgie Fame, Abdullah Ibrahim, Freddie Hubbard, Billy Cobham, LSSO, The Moscow City Ballet, Ronnie Scott, Stan Tracey and Humphrey Lyttelton. Awards include the Marty Paich Arranging Award, The John Dankworth Soloist Award, The Worshipful Company of Musicians Jazz Medal and a British Jazz Award. Tonight Andy is appearing with his trio which features the multi-talented Percy Pursglove-bass (Percy is also a wonderful trumpet player) and outstanding UK drummer Andrew Bain.
