About

Already working as a jazz clarinet and sax player in his teens, James went on to win a place at the Royal Academy of Music in London, a highlight of his time there being when he was chosen to play Benny Goodman's clarinet solos for a recreation of the famous 1938 Carnegie Hall concert. After leaving college in 1997 he joined the iconic 20's/30's band the Pasadena Roof Orchestra, touring with them for almost two years before accepting an offer of work in Berlin. That was in 1999....and he's been there ever since.
